Check it out, Dude!

For the discussion of anything non-Brown related. Basically a catch-all for anything that filters down through all the other threads.

Check it out, Dude!

AH! Rose! I Love the photo! And you may not realize it yet but this is an enormous cosmic haha.... or maybe you do already because you are such an outstanding researcher and you seem almost able to remember everything. But maybe this slipped past you.

The horse pictured is what they call a Gypsy Vanner. ( Or Gypsy Cob if it was a tad smaller.) Mr. Twigsnapper has been trying to get me interested in raising them. He has a fondness for the breed since he and a certain stud horse outran some German motorcyclists in occupied France. They made their break at night and he had dyed the white coat of the horse so that no one would recognize a " Gypsy" horse and the deal, he said, was to ride faster than the dye could run! Apparently he had his reddish hair dyed and slicked back too so the horse and he must have been an interesting pair. He rode bareback and still outran the motorcycles, of course, taking to rough country. I loved listening to his story because he was so proud of the horse having so much courage. Which is typical of the man actually.

Thanks for the picture and the memory! That was one of the things we talked about during that PJ party! Linda

So sorry to have missed the PJ party. Would have brought popcorn and soda. The story of the race...as a motorcyclist I'm doubly impressed.

Not to end on a sad note but I'm quite concerned about the polo horses that all took sick and died recently?

ANOTHER USE FOR BARIUM TITANATE?

Postby mark moody » Fri May 15, 2009 1:02 am

Dudes & dudettes,

Check out US patent # 5364710.

http://www.pat2pdf.org/patents/pat5364710pdf

A new and somewhat predictable use for Barium Titanate?

Are we edging closer to a "unplugged" power supply?

Mark,

That was interesting. A solar cell that produces several kilovolts.

Put 15 on the roof of your discus.

Dont stay out too late.
